Ayurveda or Organic products are not the privilege of only the rich and wealthy. A few years ago, Aakash Anand, founder, Bella Vita Organic realised the dire lack of affordable high-quality ayurvedic skin, hair, and wellness products in the country. Most organic products are heavily priced, which makes these unaffordable for the common masses. So Bella Vita Organic was conceptualised to offer the same high valued products at optimal prices as Aakash did not believe in investing in marketing or flashy packaging. His long-term goal: To make Bella Vita Organic products available in every Indian household.
Bella Vita (meaning Good Life) Organic is today a leading natural beauty and skincare brand committed to building handcrafted, organic solutions invigorated by the natural elements of the earth and ancient skin and hair care practices at affordable prices. The brand encourages new-age consumers to analyse their skin and feed it accordingly. Using environmentally responsible ingredients, the brand delivers regime-oriented skincare products and services with round the clock expertise navigating you through every step of your self-care journey. Bella Vita Organic uses the goodness of authentic Indian traditional herbs to mould pure, authentic, natural and eco-friendly products.
“While I oversee the brand operations and execution, Bella Vita Organic is truly a vision of my sister Aashima Anand and my mother Anju Anand, who successfully ran four salons in Gurugram back in the days, thanks to the popularity of their personally developed skin and hair care solutions. It was a seed that was watered with people’s love and enthusiasm which over the years developed into a massive tree, Bella Vita Organic. Today we cater to thousands of customers across the country who love our products and shower their love in the form of amazing feedback and reviews,” adds Aakash.
Created by Nature, Curated by Bella Vita Organic
Speaking about the challenges faced in the initial years, Aakash recalls, “While there is hype for organic products in the market, not many people realise that organic growth in India has reduced manifolds. Today, farmers are so used to growing crops with the use of chemical fertilisers that convincing them to grow organic products is a struggle. There is a price hike due to the same. The biggest challenge in the organic sector is to procure authentic products that are purely organic. You will find products listed as 80% organic, 0% organic, etc.”
Also, there is an absence of government laws to promote organic businesses that are making an important step towards sustainable living. While there are several government projects, there is very limited support to private entities that foster the growth of organic products in the country.
“So, yes it was a bit challenging to get into a business setup that focuses only on organic and Ayurveda products. The goal was to be able to provide affordable products to our customers without compromising on the quality and quantity,” he adds.
Bella Vita Organic promises standardised products built from traditional and artisanal expertise with natural ingredients. The products are infused with the pureness and authenticity of organic Indian herbs of the most superior quality.
Bella Vita Organic has a wide range of products available today catering to the skincare, hair care and wellness market. Additionally, the brand has also launched its new perfume range for both men and women. There are skincare products for oily skin, dry skin, tanned skin, chapped lips, dark circles, and much more. Similarly, hair care products are enriched with natural products such as tulsi, neem, bhringraj, amla aloe vera, etc.
Holistic approach
In terms of wellness, Bella Vita Organic has recently launched its essential oils range along with some very aesthetic aroma candles to add to the holistic approach towards healthy living. Bella Vita Organic has all certified Ayurvedic products that are sustainably produced without the use of any toxic elements and are not tested on animals. The high quality of the products is also maintained as they are paraben-free and do not contain any harsh detergents or chemicals.
Internationally, Bella Vita Organic exports its product “Nicolips”, which is a lip rejuvenating balm to the US. Aakash informs, “The US market has a high demand for our lip balm that heals chapped and dry lips. Additionally, it is also a great product for those who smoke as it prevents lip-darkening due to heavy smoking. Currently, we are unable to export due to Covid-19 restrictions; however, we plan to continue doing so once the restrictions are lifted.”
His future plans for the brand include expanding operations to other parts of the country by developing warehouses in even the remotest regions of India. “Our objective is to cater to not just the elite class of the country but also to make skincare, hair care, and wellness an essential part of everyone. Currently, there is a large population in the country that sticks to chemical products that are cheap but at the same time inflict long-term harm on the skin, hair, and body.”
