A new vegan donut shop making history in the Brooklyn Heights neighbourhood of New York City. Cloudy Donut Co., which opened last month, is the first documented black-owned eatery in Brooklyn Heights.
Cloudy Donut Co. was founded by Baltimore restaurateur Derrick Faulcon and it boasts over 40 rotating vegan donut flavours. Patrons can also choose from a variety of classic flavours, that includes chocolate glaze, Boston cream, and powdered jelly.
However, Cloudy Donut Co.’s Brooklyn Heights store is the donut brand’s first store in New York, but it first became famous in Baltimore, Maryland.
The shop is offering unique dishes like grapefruit mimosas (grapefruit champagne glaze and brulee grapefruit slices served in champagne-filled pipettes). Mango Chili Lime (mango glaze drizzled with chilli lime tagine seasoning topped with fresh mango chunks marinated in lime juice and powdered chilli); Sweet Potato (spiced sweet potato topped with cinnamon graham cracker crumble and toasted marshmallow glaze).
The companion dogs can also enjoy eating two delicious dog-friendly donuts. Lil Bow Wow (a cookie and cream donut made with vanilla glaze and a topping of smashed dog treats) and Snoop Doggie (featuring peanut butter). glaze and cheddar flavoured dog treats).
