Mother dairy and NCOL partner to bring organic products to NCR

In a significant move towards promoting organic farming and sustainable consumption, Mother Dairy has partnered with the National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL) to exclusively market and distribute organic products under the Bharat Organics brand. This initiative aims to provide high-quality organic staples to consumers in the Delhi-NCR region while supporting organic farmers and sustainable practices.

Collaboration to promote organic staples

The collaboration between Mother Dairy and NCOL was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Under this agreement, Mother Dairy will distribute Bharat Organics products across its expansive network in Delhi-NCR. The launch of Bharat Organics Atta (wheat flour) and Bharat Organics Sweetener (jaggery) marks the first step in this initiative. These products, which are certified and carefully packaged, are now available at more than 300 Safal stores and approximately 10,000 general trade outlets in the region. Furthermore, the range will also be accessible through modern trade and e-commerce platforms, expanding its reach to a wider audience.

Mother Dairy’s Managing Director, Manish Bandlish, highlighted the organisation’s dedication to fostering a healthier and more sustainable India. He stated, “By combining NCOL’s expertise in organic farming with our extensive distribution network and deep consumer trust, we are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between premium organic products and affordability.”

This partnership reflects Mother Dairy’s larger mission of meeting the evolving needs of consumers. By leveraging its well-established infrastructure, the company is ensuring that premium organic products are accessible to urban households at reasonable prices. The initiative not only supports consumers but also aligns with Mother Dairy’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.mother dairy

Vision for growth in organic farming

NCOL’s Managing Director, Vipul Mittal, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that the launch of Bharat Organics Atta is just the beginning. The organisation envisions offering an extensive basket of organic staples to cater to the daily needs of consumers. Mittal emphasised that this initiative would also ensure fair returns for organic farmers, creating a sustainable value chain that benefits both producers and consumers.

NCOL, a multistate cooperative society supported by NDDB, NAFED, NCDC, GCMMF, and NCCF, is dedicated to promoting organic farming through cooperative models. The organisation focuses on establishing organic farming clusters and fostering fair trade practices to ensure a robust and transparent supply chain.

Since its establishment in 1974, Mother Dairy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), has been a trusted name in India’s dairy industry. The company is known for its extensive portfolio of products, which includes milk, dairy products, frozen foods, and edible oils under the Dhara brand, as well as fresh produce and pulses under the Safal brand. With its vast distribution network and emphasis on quality, Mother Dairy has become a household name synonymous with trust and reliability.

A step towards sustainability

The partnership between Mother Dairy and NCOL underscores a shared commitment to sustainability, healthier lifestyles, and environmental stewardship. By promoting organic products, the initiative aims to empower consumers with healthier choices while supporting the livelihoods of organic farmers.

This collaboration is poised to make a lasting impact, not only by improving access to affordable organic staples but also by promoting sustainable farming practices. As consumers become increasingly conscious of the origins and quality of their food, initiatives like this pave the way for a more sustainable and health-focused future in India.
