APEDA Highlights India’s Organic Legacy at BIOFACH 2025

In a grand showcase of India’s thriving organic sector, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) spearheaded the country’s participation at BIOFACH 2025, held at Messezentrum, Nuremberg, Germany. This globally significant event reinforced India’s role as a leader in organic agriculture, with the APEDA India Pavilion inaugurated by Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India, Munich, alongside Abhishek Dev, Chairman of APEDA.

A significant milestone at the event was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between APEDA and Nuremberg Messe, cementing India’s position as the Partner Country for BIOFACH 2026. This agreement, signed by Victoria Vehse, Vice President and Member of the Management Board for Nuremberg Messe, and Abhishek Dev, Chairman of APEDA, in the presence of Shatrughna Sinha, Consul General of India, Munich, underscored India’s longstanding collaboration with BIOFACH. Having previously held the prestigious title of Partner Country in 2012, India is now set to take the global spotlight once again in 2026, reinforcing its status as a prime organic food supplier to the world.

The India Pavilion at BIOFACH 2025 showcased an extensive range of organic products, demonstrating the country’s rich agricultural heritage and its commitment to sustainable farming. Exhibitors presented an impressive selection, including pulses, spices, rice, processed foods, and essential oils. The curated exhibition not only highlighted India’s agricultural capabilities but also offered visitors an immersive experience into the nation’s deeply rooted organic farming traditions.apeda

To further promote India’s organic diversity, APEDA facilitated the participation of over 20 co-exhibitors, including exporters, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and State Government bodies. The stalls featured an array of organic offerings such as rice, oilseeds, herbs, spices, pulses, cashews, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, cinnamon, mango purée, and essential oils. This dynamic representation provided Indian exporters with an invaluable opportunity to connect with global buyers and expand their presence in the international organic market.

As India gears up to assume the role of Partner Country at BIOFACH 2026, the participation at this year’s event has set the foundation for greater recognition of India’s organic farming legacy on a global scale. With its diverse range of high-quality organic products and a deep-rooted cultural connection to sustainable agriculture, India continues to emerge as a global leader in organic food production.
