After completing his education at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur with a degree in Bachelor’s and Master of Science in Economics, Aman Mohunta moved to the United States of America for further studies. Later, while working in a bank, he realised that he wanted to utilise his skillsets by doing something more impactful in the real world. Not long after that, Aminu was born out of his life mission to leave a legacy and create a brand that has a global recall.
Co-founded by Prachi Bhandari, Aman Mohunta & Sanjay Doshi in 2019, Aminu is a research-driven skincare brand that is continuously innovating to create high-performing & clean (safe) skincare products for the face & body. Based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Aminu has a product line that is truly path-breaking and innovative. Driven by passion and years of expertise, Aminu products are built on the philosophy, everyone should have great skin health.

Driven by a futuristic vision to establish Aminu as a luxury holistic skincare brand, Aman and Prachi worked tirelessly with the R&D team with the intent of being the first brand in India to use high-performance ingredients. The unique selling point of the brand is ethically sourced high-performance ingredients that are powered with advanced technologies to help deliver them to the right layers of skin and show visible improvement in skin health in a matter of a few weeks. Keeping in line with the core values, all the products are 100% micro-plastic free and biodegradable.
Our skin is an intricate communication system and its needs are constantly changing. With a clear understanding of skin biology, its functions and changes to physical well-being, environmental and daily changes, all Aminu products are formulated to understand your skin, its need for replenishment, hydration, recovery and protection.
Aminu envisions changing the reason people do skincare, from vanity to body positivity & skin health. For far too long now skincare brands have focused on selling ideas such as whiter skin but Aminu wants to make available clean high-performing professional and personal use skincare for people to focus on healthier skin. The brand’s vision is to be the global benchmark of innovation in high-performing clean skincare.
Like every successful story, Aminu had its own set of challenges. Sourcing clinically proven natural or naturally derived active ingredients is a challenge in India since very limited research is happening on nature-derived high-performing molecules. The founders aspired to venture into deriving such molecules from the rich & diverse flora in India.
Aminu’s product line ranges from Cleansers, Exfoliators, Serums, Masks, Oils & Creams for both the face and body. It offers products that help in better ageing, anti-acne & acne-prone skin, pigmentation & brightening, sensitivity, prevention & maintenance. The products can be used professionally in salons or at home.
The founders source their raw materials from 40+ countries with the singular intent to use the best possible ingredients in Aminu to be able to deliver on their promise of high-performing clean skincare.
A step towards sustainability
Aminu pays much attention to sustainable progress as well. The brand checks the sustainability practices of the raw material suppliers to make sure they are not following any unsustainable practices. Aminu claims to be a micro-plastic-free product line which means they don’t use polymers or acrylates or other such non-biodegradable ingredients in the product line. The company is a signatory to zero plastic usage inside the premises, also avoiding single-use plastic in the packaging and trying to use glass packaging as much as possible.
Aminu strives to make multi-active formulas so that customers don’t have to use multiple products to take care of their skin which in turn means lesser packaging, lesser water, lesser transportation, and hopefully a slightly cleaner planet.
Aminu’s future plans are simple – the founders want to continue keeping their existing customers happy, and are looking forward to adding new customers in India and very soon globally.
