Makes Scence to be sustainable

The founders of Scence Skincare, sisters Krista and Mel, are tenaciously committed to making a difference in every area of their business. They are obsessed with quality, refuse to compromise on results for their customers and insist on creating products that are all-natural, organic, cruelty-free and therefore inclusive and available to all – including vegans.Scence Skincare

Scence’s products are 100% plastic-free. It’s as simple as that. Instead of plastic, the company utilises specially designed hard-hammered paper tubes and tubs. Each one is fully recyclable and compostable. Even the products’ labels are compostable and are printed with vegetable inks. The sisters spent several years working with their UK packaging supplier to develop the brand’s paper packaging with a unique push-up applicator design to keep the product fresh and easy to use.

The two siblings have been developing handmade skincare products in their eco-friendly lab in Falmouth, Cornwall – they even generate their own power using solar panels on the roof!

The story

The two sisters have always been interested in natural oils and the efficacy of herbs, and felt frustrated that so much of the natural skincare on offer was packaged in single use plastic containers and applicators. They felt strongly that the way forward was to develop new ways of packaging the brand without compromising the environment.Scence Citrus

After making balms for family and friends that needed help with eczema and sensitive skin, they were particularly interested in addressing specific needs as well as developing a really effective deodorant that didn’t use questionable ingredients like aluminium.

The result is Scence skincare, an artisan range of nourishing balms for the face and body – natural and vegan ingredients, all poured into paper-based, compostable & recyclable packaging.

We use only the highest quality, natural and organic ingredients that are both nourishing for your skin and kind on the environment.
