Quantum Green Hydrogen: QD-SOL’s one way to Sustainability

When it comes to climate crises, individual efforts do not make a big impact, at least not in the way it is required today. In fact, 100 companies have been responsible for 71% of global emissions according to a study.

This is why it is important for big corporations to take action as soon as possible. Still, it might take time for the companies to take such responsibility and to actually do something about the ongoing climate crisis. On the other hand, there are climate tech start-ups, that are now taking action and are making a huge impact around the globe in today’s time. One such company is the Iserail-based start-up QD-SOL. It promotes the sustainability and affordability needs of the future through its green hydrogen technology. This technology is predicted to change the industry and by 2032 it will encompass 2% of the global green hydrogen market.

The global temperatures are 1.1 degrees Celsius higher than they were in the 1800s. There is a huge output of Carbon Dioxide from various industries in the environment which has contributed to the rising temperature in the past decades, leading to setting new records of temperature around the world.

comp 1 mob qd solAfter the 2015 Paris Agreement, the world has come together and many nations are putting efforts to find a solution to achieve net-zero CO2 and cut greenhouse gas emissions. As it is necessary to set a greener world for the generations to come.

Hydrogen is a bigger use in the energy sector. This is why QD-SOL’s hydrogen production process is useful when it comes to industrial demand and also new energy needs. It can make a great alternative to fossil fuel-based hydrogen production. The CSO and Co-founder of the company, Prof. Lilac Amirav did research for 15 years to have breakthroughs with green hydrogen technology. In this process electrolysis is not involved, instead, hydrogen is directly generated from sunlight with nanoparticles which catalyze separation from water. This means that hydrogen production is affordable and actually creates a sustainable solution for both industry and the environment.

technology qd solQD-SOL’s quantum green hydrogen has many benefits of its on, that is:

  • Low Cost: The technology uses sunlight to generate energy through nanoparticles and it doesn’t require costly photovoltaic panels or wind turbines in the production of green hydrogen.
  • Green Energy: Renewable resources are used adequately to turn sunlight into energy to produce hydrogen.
  • No Pollutants: No emissions are generated during the hydrogen production process, as the fuel itself only releases water vapour when it burns.
  • Renewable energy: This method of hydrogen production creates a source of renewable fuel which can have a varied number of uses; from transportation to heating and so much more.
  • Reducing Global Warming: Green hydrogen technology can be a good alternative to fossil fuels which generate grey hydrogen. Thus, eliminating a harmful process altogether.
  • Sustainability: Green hydrogen technology is cost-effective and doesn’t harm the environment as much. This helps in maintaining a sustainable solution for the future.
