Solely sustainable

As per a recent report by WHO, 1.5 billion people are infected by diseases that could be prevented by wearing healthy and proper footwear. While manufacturing a pair of shoes it involves a total assembling of up to 65 discrete parts in 360 steps, which sustainably generates 30 lbs of emissions equivalent to leaving a 100-watt bulb burning for a week. 

Greensole shoe

Shriyans Bhandari and Ramesh Dhami used to run hundreds of kilometres every year and as athletes they also used to trifle away at least three to four pairs of sports shoes every year. The only issue they faced was when the soles remained in good condition while the sides of the shoes wore out within months. 

Finally, the duo succeeded in refurbishing their idea into reality by creating trendy slippers and thus was born an eco-friendly enterprise that reuses shoe soles – Greensole.
