Young Organics Global Network launched by IFOAM Asia

Launched on IFOAM Asia’s 7th anniversary, June 28, 2020, is the Young Organics Global Network (YOGN) website and social media profiles.

Twenty motivated and imaginative organic adolescents founded Young Organics in 2011 at BIOFACH Nuremburg. They came from Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, and Turkey, and were based in Germany, Holland, and Switzerland. They decided to start an urban farm to experience farming first-hand and organised a number of events at different BIOFACH Congresses. In Korea and Turkey, the Organic World Congress discussed Climate Change and the Sustainable Future.

In 2016, the first graduates of the Asian Local Governments launched the Asian Organic Youth Forum. The Organic Foundation Course (ALGOA) was established for Organic Agriculture (ALGOA) (OFC). IFOAM Asia members and government officials participate in the annual Organic Farmer’s Conference (OFC). Since then, the Asian Organic Youth Forum has trained over 300 people from public and private sectors all over Asia. Incumbent Mayors remained a part of the training.

It’s a merger of two significant youth organisations from various parts of the world.   YOGN aspires to create a worldwide platform for organic youth. They learn from one another, train, and inspire others to advance the organic movement.

As part of its official launch on September 18th, 2020 in Goesan County, South Korea, YOGN will hold its 1st World Organic Youth Summit there in 2021. The project’s strategic partner, Goesan County is part of IFOAM Asia and IFOAM-Organics International.
