Soapy Secret: Devyani Mehta’s not so secret dream

How her soap making passion is raising the bar in the bath and body segment and changing conventional bathing routines. 

Devyani Mehta always wanted to take up a creative hobby and was casually looking to take up one during her mundane 9-5 job in Bengaluru when she found herself stumbling upon soap making videos on YouTube by International Soap Makers and was intrigued by the process. Little did she know, however, that this hobby would become her passion.

Since soaps were an old forgotten chapter, she decided to bring them back in a quirky way so that people would look forward to their bathing routine each day. After a lot of research and practice for a year, the hobby that initially started as a form of therapy soon evolved into a career. Finally resulting in the creation of Soapy Secret in 2021.

Kolkata-based Soapy Secret is a bath and body brand which aims to revolutionize the conventional bathing style. The brand offers creative bathing products which are organic and great for the skin.

Soapy Secret started out with Dessert Soaps initially but now has a whole range of bath and body products like Whipped Sugar Scrubs, Bath Bombs, Bath Salts, Lip Balm, Lip Scrubs, Shower Gel, Bath Sponges and of course the soaps.

“All our products are handmade, and we manufacture them after testing in small batches to ensure the quality of the products is intact,” founder Devyani tells us.
