Anokha Dhaaga: EmPowering lives, one stitch at a time

Through its flagship initiative “Dhaaga”, Tata Power (implemented by Tata Power Community Development Trust) promotes Women Empowerment by engaging with both rural and urban women

 

Tata Power has assisted a million people over the previous century by being a pioneer utility in establishing ground-breaking programs and projects for the country’s overall development. Women’s empowerment and gender equality have always been important to the company.

Working Women

The company has now worked on a unique initiative called Anokha Dhaaga, an all women based micro enterprise, created with the vision of improving their social status and making them economically strong.

It was first introduced in Maval, Maharashtra, with the objective of empowering women and providing them with a source of income.
