For a green Utopia

Founded with a mission to provide green sustainability practices and pro-Planet digital solutions for individuals, communities and businesses, Utopiic is a technology company focused on sustainability and climate change.

Rise of Utopiic

Talking about their inspiration behind starting the company Nishant Malhotra (Business Development Manager) says, “Utopiic arose from an innate and current need of modern-day humanity, to address the issue of climate change and environmental concerns. In this post-industrial society, high-quality education, inordinate consumerism, and easy access to goods and services have curated comfortable options for all. However, sustainable initiatives and practices are often seen as a burden that cannot be accomplished in the established business structures. This is where Utopiic comes in and makes sustainability business-friendly, accessible and affordable, without affecting the output generation of the business and ensuring an inclusive impact.”

The founders chose the name Utopiic from ‘Utopia’, a Greek word that refers to the ultimate ideology of a perfect society based on all just and virtuous values. In a similar vein, the Utopiic notion aims to establish a quintessential green utopia, a community that is self-sustaining in all aspects of existence.

Digital solutions

Utopiic creates customised industry-specific, multi-level digital solutions around sustainability and climate change for businesses and individuals alike for them to smoothly transition into a carbon-neutral existence.

Nishant explains, “We provide Advisory & Consultancy Sustainability Services, Carbon Project Development & Management, Stakeholder Training Services in the domain of Green Ethics, Certifications & Reporting Enablement.”

Among different products and services that Utopiic offers customers, POSITIIVPLUS is a B2B cloud-based SaaS platform that supports a company’s pro-environmental initiatives while also maintaining transparency with stakeholders about the company’s sustainable principles and practices.

XIIROCARBON is an interactive ecolabel for products, workplaces and events to highlight their commitment to carbon neutrality. It uses relevant and dependable measures to display the business impact and demonstrate to the consumers how they make a positive influence on the environment by choosing its products.

CLEANIINK, is a Carbon Estimation and Removal API that allows a business to integrate data-backed emissions estimation and quality carbon compensation, reduction and elimination to subsume a positive climate impact into concrete corporate development.

Starting struggles

The most arduous challenge UTOPIIC went through were related to the existence of a common misconception that sustainability and economic growth coincide. Utopiic’s team further observed a lack of awareness among their clients while interacting with them.

Nishant shares, “They were well aware of how to run their businesses, the legalities, and the operations but given the fact that even the law simply states sustainability as suggestive guidelines rather than making it mandatory for all and businesses being held accountable.”

He continues, “This led to the irreversible consequence of the insufficiency of substantial data in the field of business sustainability as most green initiatives to have taken place are scattered, isolated, and unidirectional with no follow-ups of their long-term sustenance.”

Future plans

Utopiic plans on moving beyond conventional net-zero solutions and traditional renewable energy projects. Utopiic is planning on developing climate mitigation projects along with carbon credit projects that will benefit millions of individuals by improving the socio-economic realities while also benefiting the environment.
